On 2 December, a ceremony to honour the LMIFB Honorary Members took place at the RTU MTAF Dean's Meeting Hall. For their long-standing contribution to the launching of the field of medical physics and engineering in Latvia, its development, scientific and research activities, diplomas were awarded by the LMIFB Board.
Diplomas were awarded in person to Nina Mironova-Ulman and Yuri Dekhtyar. Unfortunately, due to personal reasons, Honorary Members Juris Lauznis and Haralds Jansons were unable to attend and will be awarded their diplomas individually.
During the formal part of the meeting, the Honorary Members shared their memories of the beginnings of medical physics and engineering in Latvia. They also talked about how they established relations with international organisations and about the founding of the Society itself.
